The cultural festival kicked off with a performance by Indonesian students of a musical on the theme of Indonesia\u2019s independence. The Indonesia students also shared their culture, food, art, and fashion with teachers and students from the school. The event was opened by the International College Dean, J.C. Leong, on behalf of the university president. Vice Dean of International Affairs, Yuh Tzean, OIA Education Director, Chun-Yi Lee, and a number of professors from various departments participated in the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>J.C. Leong, Dean of the International College, said, \u201cNPUST attaches great importance to the diversity of its international community. Cultural celebrations like this can promote mutual understanding and enrich our common experiences. In commemorating Indonesia\u2019s inspiring journey, we hope that this event will strengthen connections within our global community and deepen our appreciation for cultural diversity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deputy Director Ni Luh Enik Ernawati of the Indonesian Tourism Bureau, delivered a welcome speech via video, saying \u201cfirst of all, I would like to congratulate NPUST as it celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. NPUST is Taiwan\u2019s leading technical university in terms of education, innovation, and environmental sustainability. I hope that through the Indonesian Cultural Festival, more people can become aware of Indonesia\u2019s natural scenery and tourism potential.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Arif Sulistyo, representative of the Indonesian Economic and Trade Representative Office in Taipei, also provided a video message, saying \u201cI am honored to have been invited to participate in the 2024 Indonesian Festival. Unfortunately, I am unable to participate in person, but I would like to give a special thanks to the Indonesian Student Association of NPUST for organizing this event, and I congratulate National Pingtung University of Science and Technology as it celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. I wish your school a prosperous future!\u201d In addition to introducing and promoting traditional Indonesian dance, art, cuisine, and fashion, a musical drama, which was thoughtfully produced by the Indonesian Student Association, was performed to commemorate the history of revolutionary heroes who fought to win Indonesian independence.
