NPUST and Pingtung Veterans General Hospital Sign Strategic Alliance

National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST) and the Pingtung Veterans General Hospital signed a strategic alliance memorandum on December 6 (2023) in the Second Meeting Room of the NPUST Administration Building. NPUST President Chin-Lung Chang was joined by a number of university representatives at the signing, including Vice President for Education Shang-Min Ma, and Director of Research and Development Yo-Chia Chen. Representing the Pingtung Veterans General Hospital included Hospital Dean Tung-Lin Wu, Deputy Dean of Education Yih-Gang Goan, Research Department Director Yu-Hsin Lin and other executives. The two parties held in-depth discussions on their respective institutional attributes and professional projects of interest as the formulated the direction of future cooperation.

President Chin-Lung Chang of NPUST said “at the core of its development strategy, NPUST is focused on ‘production, ecology, life and health’. And whether it is development in the area of food security, food safety, children’s health, community sustainability, environmental co-prosperity or biological stability, we are moving towards the goals represented under ‘One Health’. Cooperating based on these principles, NPUST and the Veterans Hospital will combine their strengths to produce brilliant results in research and development and push for the healthy development of greater Pingtung”.

Dean Tung-Lin Wu of the Veterans Hospital said “Pingtung Veterans General Hospital is a newly established hospital and a key medical institution of national development with abundant research resources. We are currently actively cooperating with local universities and colleges in Pingtung, and I hope my colleagues will actively apply for in-hospital research projects and collaborate with NPUST faculty to produce outstanding research results. We also hope to arrange internships for students and thereby create a win-win situation for all parties”.
