Visit and Signing of Memorandum of Understanding with Isabela State University, Philippines

On December 12, the President of Isabela State University, Dr. Ricmar P. Aquino, and the International Affairs Director, Dr. Isagani P. Angeles Jr., visited our university. During the visit, they signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with our President, Zhang Jinlong, establishing a sister university partnership and initiating a new chapter of collaboration.

Isabela State University, founded in 1978, has nine campuses with approximately 40,000 students. The purpose of their visit was to foster academic cooperation and exchange between the two institutions. President Zhang invited key figures from our university, including Dean Xu Ruiliang from the College of Agriculture, Dean Liang Zicheng from the International College, Director Yu Qi from the Department of Animal Science and Livestock Production, Vice Director of the International Affairs Office Zeng Yu, and faculty member O’Carroll from the Ornamental Fish Specialty Class, to participate in the signing ceremony.

During the meeting, Isabela State University proposed future collaboration directions, such as student exchange internships, exploring the feasibility of establishing a double master’s program with our Department of Animal Science and Livestock Production, and inviting our President and interested faculty members to attend an international conference on climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction management in the Philippines. After exchanging opinions, the meeting concluded successfully.

Our International Affairs Office will maintain contact with Isabela State University’s International Affairs Office. Building on mutual trust and reciprocity, both institutions will explore feasible collaborative projects, facilitating substantial exchanges between faculty and students. This collaboration not only expands international perspectives but also marks the beginning of a new chapter in diverse and enriching cooperation.
