A new, joint office space for alumni services was inaugurated on March 3rd at the University History Museum on the third floor of the university Library and Exhibition Hall.

To keep up with the ever-increasing alumni affairs activity, the president of NPUST encouraged a plan to move the Alumni Service Center from its original location to a “VIP” environment in the school’s library. Integrated with the university’s history museum, the joint office space offers a comfortable setting to receive alumni, while also providing more room to expand and diversify the functions of the university’s alumni associations.

NPUST President Chang-Hsien Tai remarked that “for many years, NPUST has be raising up many outstanding people who have gone on to make huge contributions to society. And last year, NPUST was named fourth in the country for its impact on society. This can be attributed to the efforts of our school’s outstanding alumni. The very same are providing excellent examples for our students to learn from—and so we hope that this joint office space will help bring together our experienced and accomplished alumni and those who are young and still fresh from studies.”

Guosen Chen, director of the NPUST Alumni Association, expressed his gratitude to President Tai, saying that “because of his dedication, we are maintaining very good relations with our alumni. The interaction, support and care amongst alumni is the pride of the university and provides a great example for the generations that follow.”

Established in 1924, over the years, the university’s alumni have made outstanding contributions in many different fields and areas of society. And their consolidated strength is the greatest treasure and most lasting resource that their Alma Mater has. In order to keep up with the trends of the times and strengthen the connection and communication between alumni and the university, in 2018 the Alumni Services Center was established. In addition to providing services and coalescing relationships, the center works to develop resources and promote alumni production-chains and cooperation networks. It also assists the alumni associations with the promotion of their activities and is working to bring together resources from the school, the alumni associations and the alumni— to strengthen their centripetal force—so that together a grander vision can be achieved.
