According to the university’s 4 developmental axes, a total of 1 student club and 9 departments participated. Our faculty members led students from either the same department or cross-department to communities, local industries, rural elementary schools, or long-term care units. Our service, focusing on the four major areas of the NPUST’s university development, serve the community with expertise and companionship.
1.Agro-technology
The professor of the Department of Industrial Management led students from the Department of Industrial Management, Fashion Design and Management and Business Management to form a Guan-Shan Community Science and Technology Service Team to visit various farmers during the mango farming period, and let the students participate in the actual work of the mango garden, such as mango bagging. The farming process of mangoes in Guan-Shan community from planting to harvesting, and discussing marketing methods and concepts with farmers, using Line and Facebook to help farmers build marketing communities (ex: LINE @曾氏好芒), through the community, the software allows relatives and friends to quickly obtain information on the growth and promotion of agricultural products to increase the exposure of agricultural products, attract customers, and increase farmers’ income.
2.Sustainable Economy
Professors and students from the Graduate Institute of Landscape Architecture and Recreation Management cooperate with the Pingtung Agricultural Association to provide guidance on landscape and recreational space for five on-site leisure farms, and conduct environmental diagnosis and field surveys of leisure farms. The uniqueness of the environment of the regional leisure industry and the new value of the region directly communicate the space and ideas of landscape improvement with the farm operator.
3.Platinum Society
Professors from the Recreation Sports and Health Promotion lead students to remote towns, indigenous tribes, and long-term care institutions to conduct elderly physical fitness studies and training courses, and perform Sarcopenia tests for the elderly and assist in explanations. Observing the learning professor’s knowledge of the elderly’s teaching skills and the physical fitness of the senior citizen, and the abilities that students learn from learning activities will help their future application in actual situations.
4.Ecological Industry
The Graduate Institute of Hakka Cultural Industry and UAV aviation agency club cooperate with 9 neighboring primary schools to conduct UAV science experience camps. Through professors lead students actively share and experience new technologies with elementary school resources, and also inspire students to apply innovative technologies to the cultural and creative industries of cultural and tourism resources and traditional skills.
